Chris Hein - Hybrid Winds

Chris Hein - Hybrid Winds centers on the ability to transform and shape sound in real-time, producing endless variations. Instruments are divided into three adjustable components—Attack, Sustain, and Release. For those, who want to go into deep with only a few clicks, the instruments offer a surgical control over tonal evolution.

The „Note-Heads“ feature enables up to 128 distinct attack shapes per note, while the „blending“ controls allow for seamless sound morphing via individual MIDI CCs or the intuitive XY-Pad. Release controls add unique sound sources upon note release, enriching the sonic possibilities further.

Whether you’re composing cinematic scores, orchestral pieces, or engaging in experimental sound design, Chris Hein - Hybrid Winds offers an exceptional sonic experience with a rich array of dynamic, ever-evolving sound sources.

Realtime Control

Realtime performance using Leap Motion

There are many ways to control the many functions to achieve a convincing realtime performance.

You can use hardware faders, a breath controller,

TouchOSC on an iPad is a good choice.

Bernd Keul provides a nice video example of controlling CH-Orchestral Winds using the Leap Motion sensor controller together with Geko MIDI, the controller app for Leap Motion.

The leap motion is the only controller which enables to control multiple functions at a time in a pretty intuitive way.
